    Namibia Rivers

Description: eavy rain across most of Namibia during the past few days has caused several of the country’s ephemeral rivers to flood. The Hoanib River in the northwest of the country has come down in flood, while usually dry river washes in the Namib section of the Namib-Naukluft Park also came down in full spate. The Kuiseb River, which has its headwaters in the Khomas Hochland, is also in full flood and the flood waters rushed past the desert research station at Gobabeb yesterday. At Omaruru, 50 mm of rain was measured yesterday (Sunday, 6 February), while up to 40 mm were measured on farms in the area. A heavy build-up of clouds over the Spitzkoppe was also reported yesterday.
